Care & Maintenance for EOS 100D
- Use full-size UHS-I SD cards; format inside this camera.
- Avoid pressing hard on the screen; it can trigger ghost taps.
- Keep hot shoe, lens, and battery contacts clean to prevent dropouts.
- Store LP-E12 at 40–60% charge; run a full cycle occasionally.
- If OVF focus bias appears, schedule AF module calibration.
FAQ
1) Does the SL1 have an external mic input?
Yes, 3.5 mm stereo. We replace noisy jacks and confirm clean signal.
2) UHS-II card support?
Slot is UHS-I. UHS-II cards work at UHS-I speed; we recommend reliable UHS-I media.
3) Clean HDMI for streaming?
Not a true clean feed. Overlays remain in most modes; capture is possible with limits.
4) Built-in Wi-Fi?
No native Wi-Fi. Eye-Fi/FlashAir cards can add wireless transfer.
5) Worth repairing in 2025?
Yes if the body is clean and the estimate is under ~$230. EF/EF-S lenses and LP-E12 batteries carry over if you upgrade later.
6) Can you fix battery drain while off?
We run a quiescent-draw test and repair the leaky rail or DC-DC stage if confirmed.
