Leica Camera & Lens Repair in the USA

What We Do Best

  • Digital M (M10/M11), film M, SL/SL2/SL2-S, and Q/Q2/Q3 bodies
  • M, SL and TL lenses: helicoids, diaphragm units, encoders, contact blocks
  • Rangefinder calibration, flange distance, and infinity hard-stop setup
  • L-Mount Alliance compatibility checks (Leica/Panasonic/Sigma), firmware and mounts

Typical Leica Issues We Fix

  • M rangefinder misalignment after impact; dim or flared RF patch
  • 6-bit coding not recognized; body reports “unknown lens”
  • Q/Q2/Q3: leaf shutter error, sticky blades, or aperture anomalies
  • SL/SL2: IBIS rattle, image jump, or micro-blur on tripod
  • “Card cannot be accessed” / slow buffer; bent pins or fatigued slot
  • Lens decentering, field tilt, soft corners on fast Summilux/Noctilux
  • Loose hot shoe, EVF blackout, diopter drift, or LCD artifacts
  • Film M: shutter curtain wear, uneven speeds, frame spacing issues

Flashes & Accessories

We service SF flashes, the Multi-Function hot shoe, Visoflex EVF units, battery grips, and L-Mount adapters: connector boards, cracked feet, sync faults, and firmware.

FAQ

1. My M’s rangefinder is off. How do you calibrate it?

We adjust vertical/horizontal alignment and infinity, verify close-focus, and set the hard stop to spec. Impact checks are included.

2. 6-bit coding isn’t detected. Can you fix it?

Yes. We clean the reader, repair/replace the sensor board if needed, and repaint/recode the lens base to factory pattern.

3. Q-series shows “shutter error” or exposure jumps.

We service the leaf shutter and aperture, replace worn flex cables, and run exposure timing tests across the range.

4. SL2 IBIS causes blur on a tripod. Normal?

On rigid support, stabilization can induce motion. Turn IBIS off on tripod; if blur persists we realign or replace the unit.

5. Noctilux/Summilux shows focus shift. Can you correct it?

We calibrate the cam, verify coupling, and optimize for your shooting distance/aperture to minimize shift.

6. Safe sensor cleaning for M bodies—anything special?

Use the official cleaning mode to open the shutter and avoid canned air. We perform blower, dry, and wet swabs with edge cleanup and a post-scan.

7. L-Mount lens not recognized on SL/Alliance bodies.

We clean/tension contacts, update firmware, check mount tolerance, and replace the contact block if needed.

8. Film M shows uneven frames or tearing curtains.

We rebuild the transport, replace curtains, set shutter speeds, and verify frame spacing and light tightness.

9. Hot pixels or long-exposure noise on SL/Q—fixable?

We perform pixel remapping, verify sensor temps, and advise Long Exposure NR and stable power for extended takes.

10. Turnaround and warranty?

Standard 3–5 business days; express 2–3 hours when parts allow. Written warranty 1–3 months depending on the job.
