Sigma Lens Repair in the USA

What We Do Best

  • Art/Contemporary/Sports zooms and primes, DG DN mirrorless and legacy EX/DG DSLR lenses
  • AF motor, OS unit, diaphragm, and encoder/flex repairs with post-service calibration
  • Decentering correction, optical group re-alignment, and flange-distance checks
  • Firmware updates and AF tuning via Sigma USB Dock; MC-11/MC-21 adapter service

Typical Sigma Lens Issues We Fix

  • AF hunting or inconsistent focus on Art primes; needs calibration at multiple distances
  • OS clunk on power up/down, image jump, or blur with stabilization on
  • Sticky/oily aperture blades leading to overexposure or ERR
  • “Attach lens properly” / no AF due to contact block or firmware mismatch
  • Decentered optics or field tilt, soft corners, or severe focus shift
  • Zoom creep or stiff rings; helicoid grease breakdown
  • Broken filter thread or dented barrel after impact

Sigma Adapters & Accessories

We service MC-11 (EF→E) and MC-21 (EF→L) adapters, USB Dock stations, and lens hoods/caps: firmware, connector boards, and mechanical fit.

FAQ

1. Can you calibrate my Sigma Art lens with the USB Dock?

Yes. We update firmware and tune AF at multiple distances and focal lengths, then verify on your camera body.

2. OS makes a clunk when the camera powers on/off. Normal?

A light click can be normal. Continuous rattle, image jump, or blur indicates an OS unit issue we can service.

3. My lens back-focuses on DSLR but is fine on mirrorless. Why?

Phase-detect DSLRs may need per-lens calibration or USB Dock tuning. We adjust and document the offsets.

4. Can you fix sticky aperture blades?

Yes. We replace or rebuild the diaphragm, clean residue, and test exposure across the f-range.

5. Decentering test at home—how do I check it?

Shoot a flat, detailed surface wide-open at infinity. If corners are uneven, decentering is likely. We realign optical groups.

6. Can you convert my lens to another mount?

Where parts are available, we perform mount replacement or advise official mount-conversion paths. We always verify AF/OS communication.

7. “Attach lens properly” appears on Sony/Leica bodies.

We clean and re-tension contacts, update firmware, and correct mount tolerance. If needed we replace the contact block.

8. Zoom ring is too loose or too stiff. Can it be adjusted?

Yes. We rebuild the helicoid, refresh grease, and set damping to factory spec to eliminate creep.

9. Front element is scratched. Polish or replace?

Replacement is the safe option to preserve coatings and contrast. We install OEM elements and re-collimate the lens.

10. Turnaround and warranty?

Standard 3–5 business days; express 2–3 hours when parts allow. Written warranty 1–3 months by job type.
